About El Torero
El Torero opened in August 2001. The menu was created by Toni Almirón, a Spaniard from Granada, Andalucia, and El Torero soon became a popular place to experience that wonder of Spanish cuisine - tapas. Today, as ever, it is a great place to enjoy an informal meal amongst friends of simple yet delicious dishes inspired by the tapas bars of southern Spain.
All our dishes are freshly prepared under the supervision of our head chef, Jorge del Rio Rubio. Only the finest ingredients will do and we source a lot of them (such as chorizo, jamón, morcilla and longaniza) from Spain.
We have an extensive wine list where you can find great wines from all over Spain. As well as our Spanish lagers, we also serve our home-made Sangria, which is a special mix of spirits, and white and red wine. Before your meal you can enjoy a Manzanilla sherry and after dining we have a range of Spanish liqueurs such as Pacharán and Licor 43, and also a large selection of Spanish brandies.
We take reservations for two to 100 people. We offer a range of selection menus, which can take the hassle out of ordering and are ideal for large parties.
The name, El Torero sometimes causes a little confusion. It is often substituted by names such as El Torino, El Toledo and El Dorado. The most commonly heard alternative is El Toro, which is the closest of them all to the real meaning. El Toro means the bull whereas El Torero means the bullfighter.
